Okay, so most of the issues regarding Washu have been resolved, leaving just her speakers and webcam before she’s right back to normal. Meanwhile the new external harddrive is functioning beautifully.

Now, some people might be calling it anticlimactic to have Black Rain bested by 2 fairly-weak spells. I say this: She doesn’t have a superpowered evil side, she’s just tremendously ticked off.

If you’re sending someone in to battle, do you want them fighting normally or seething at the teeth? This is Black Rain, basically, she does more damage because she has less inhibition by being so unbelievably angry.

And now we see the Fighter’s folly.

Now, no matter how strong Stonehammer is, and no matter how well he can bash apart the skeletons, against someone that relies on Will save spells, like Mr Huggles, he’ll fall apart. Especially given the spell he’s using.

A shame I don’t have room to give him an epitaph, I really enjoyed writing Stonehammer.

Ah well, no matter, he’ll be back.

Now, as the forums already know, I’m having some software issues with Washu. I’m now down to 1 comic in my buffer, though conceivably I can make 1 morewithout her. I’m hoping to have the problems resolved by Monday.

Well, this would be the first comic I’ve had to give dialogue to without the actual availability of simple things like Bold, Italics, and Underline. I’ve managed to jury-rig the italics though, they just need to be entirely separate to the non-italicised text.

Man I hate software issues…

I considered a couple different ways to put his big speech in the last three frames, but this ended up the best, it didn’t look so good stretching across the different frames.

Today would also be the day my college starts back up, so my time is about to be quashed beneath the heel of eduction. Yay me.

Also: Stonehammer kicks undead butt!

And here we have the big reveal of Mr Huggles.

Now, between a driving theory test (ugh) and some software issues, I’m a little behind on my comic buffer. I’ve got page 56 done and page 57 is only missing a couple dwarves and the speech bubbles, so I’m going to really need to step up production in the next few days. Don’t be surprised though if I end up missing an update :(

Also, this marks the end of the Guess the Creature competition, sadly no-one managed to guess what it was. No victor.

I’m really going to have to try and write that blue-tipped rogue into some more comics later on, I did his hair too perfectly for a singular appearance.

There’s certainly more to that gem than meets the eye, and Bedelia is her typical mother-y self even in the middle of warfare.

Of course, the real question is: Why are the enemy soldiers falling back, if they’re pushing forward with much success?

All will be revealed on Thursday.

This is a pretty packed story arc, so I’ll try and fit as much Black Rain actions in as I can. On the bright side, there’s an explosive revelation in a couple more pages that may very well make up for the lack of Black Rain.

For now, let’s look back at the Dwarves. Ailin Stonehelm was pretty much dropped in here, I hope to expand more on him at a later date, for now he’s motivation for Oscar.

And of course, King Oswald IV retains his grandeur with the Statue, which is very important to the Dwarven people, though Oscar neglected that fact for a moment.

I cannot tell you how annoyed I was when I realised I’d put Oscar’s equipment on the wrong arms…

And now the proverbial magic missile hits the proverbial Hill Giant.

This was fairly fun to do, and like the last couple of pages I’ve gotten to draw some pretty cool spell effects.

And of course, I’ve always wanted to use “I’ll swallow your soul” in some context. So Black Rain is perfect for that release.

Enjoy, and I’ll see you all Thursday.

Okay okay, I apologise for the April Fool’s prank, I realise a few of you thought I’d actually quit this gig before you gave me mountains of cash for it Smiley

So here is why page 47 was moved originally, because Igon encounters a lot of problems here from troops that have managed to push past the main lines. If there wasn’t any issues, they wouldn’t be there, and if they noted this after troops are getting past, something is seriously wrong. So, page 50 now foreshadows these problems.
