Page 8 Book 3: Awkward Alliances
Something that’s always bugged me, which crops up somewhat in frame six here, is relative gravity in space with a collision. Like, in Star Trek, the ships have artificial gravity, so the people inside are pulled down to the relative bottom of the ship, relative to that ship. What bugs me then is when the ship is hit by something, and the entire ship shakes, including the people inside, despite the fact that, relative to the ship, they shouldn’t move. If Earth were to spin off into space, we wouldn’t be flung off, basically (unless there was some very serious rotation involved).
If someone can explain that to me and understand what, exactly, I’ve just typed, I’d be very grateful.
