  1. Oh wow…
I feel a little bit sick for having seen this coming.

Also, I don’t know how to compliment your drawing without seeming terribly insensitive, but I do like the way you drew that. With the boxes.Yeah.

  2. I sense just a wee bit of gallows humour in the sixth panel.
And it’s a bit morbid, EP, but true. Nicely done.
Though to be honest, the noose doesn’t look like it’ll fit. If this was a supremely insensitive comic, they’d probably have one of the comics involve her struggling to put the thing on.

  3. Oh no… I’m gonna miss Enko.

That said, this wasn’t NEARLY as shocking as I would have thought it would be from the blog post… either that, or I’m just weird. I might be just weird.

And yeah, I really liked the way you drew the Enko panels with the boxes. It kind of looks like… I don’t know… static. Or a puzzle. Perfect for the emotional tone, really.

  4. It seems kind of tame actually… At least, compared to some other suicides in fiction (the “new” Battlestar Galactica’s ranks a lot higher in term of shock, and it’s a mainstream sho).

Though I’d like to congratulate you on the execution of the act (no pun intended), Enko’s seems to be one of the most believable examples I’ve seen.

  5. I definitely saw this coming, but I think the disclaimer is talking about more than this comic. Otherwise, the suicide (attempt) wouldn’t be that controversial. Oh, and I agree that the rope looks kind of thin. It looks more like a cord.
And I don’t mean to be laughing at the funeral, but Enko seems to have failed some Use Rope checks. (Or is she failing because this is a system that doesn’t have Use Rope?) It could just be her nerves, of course.

I kinda suspect that Kilzu is going to come in at the last minute and save her, if he isn’t the discoverer of her body.
