‘cos it’s terror time again…
Well, I realise most everyone will not know exactly who these ghosty folk are, so allow me to explain a little bit.

These are Der’o Fasciid. And the guy with the beard is Chief Akatar’is, all previously seen in the Chronicles of Arcania short stories. They’re basically ghosts attached by their own magic to the island Arcanian (Now Alphantica following the fall), and their belief is that they act in accordance with the island’s will, which includes facilitating the exit and arrival of those the island chooses.

You can understand, what with the current dead winter Arcania is experiencing since early Book 2, they are not particularly happy with the Moon Elves responsible.

  3. Um…and why didn’t they use these guys all the way back at the siege, by the way?

  5. I’m not sure that’s how time bets work…

  6. Alright, I’ma give a few guesses here…

@Nutty: If you’re referring to the ghosts, my best guess is they’re kinda stuck to the terrain.
@Pokota\Raekuul\Bellsprout: Might be an artist’s mistake, or it might be he doesn’t mind standing barefoot in this weather, or any number of things, honestly.
@Kumo: Different people go by different rules, they both bet for a specific time, so the closer one won, I guess. Other people might go by “You were off by 3 minutes etc etc” but they seem to go by slightly different rules. Unsure as to why.

Now, last but not least, I have a simple question: Exactly how is he going to use a nation-killing spell with his best friend right next to him? A nation-killing spell that he has no time to practice, at all, or learn how to control.
