Book 5: The War Diaries

So with the most recent page, the 72nd, Book 5 would normally end. However, there’s still, as I’m sure many of you have guessed, a lot more of this story to cover. So what I’m going to do is divide Book 5 into two chunks, aiming at making Book 5 a double-length Book though I won’t be holding steadfast to a summary of events with it as I have with previous Books. The first chunk has concluded with page 72, the second chunk (Termed “The War Diaries”) begins on Thursday, and will be the final chapter of Remember’s main storyline, that of Lyinginbedmon.

The War Diaries is going to be a little different in terms of organisation. There’ll be almost zero flashback sequences and few if any time skips. Every dozen or so pages, there’ll also be a map-based update on what’s going on, as this chunk is largely focused on a single area that is under rather constant flux from the events transpiring, so the “battlefield update” pages will be there to help everyone keep track of what’s happening. Think of them as sort of like the illustrations in traditional books, every now and then they turn up to help further illustrate what’s going on.

Originally, I had intended to keep going in generic Book 5, ignoring the typical 72-page limitation of previous Books completely until the story was finished, but I realised that this first chunk is very different compared to the second chunk and could get confusing if you’re trying to find a specific page or sequence, so I’ve opted instead for this two-fold approach to things.

That’s all for now, I’ll see you all once again on Thursday :)

  1. Question.

Why have them both part as book five? Why not just make the second chunk of book 5 book 6?
