Battlefield update #3
As things go in this battle, Day 2 is really one of the quieter ones. There’s no big upheavals in the battlefield or in strategy, and things are mostly fought for supplies or territory. That said, the casualties due to all the skirmishes make Day 2 one of the worst in terms of loss of life.
I see there’s some concern as regards the resurrection of Enko and Anthur, and I’d like to put those concerns to rest: This is the one and only time it will ever happen. No-one else is going to be resurrected for the rest of this battle, they are a very special case and I contemplated it for literal years before putting it into practise.
They are not “joke characters”, they are people, valuable and important people, and whilst the capacity certainly exists to resurrect people as much as one would like in this setting of gods and magic, it is by no means cheap and is occasionally also subject to error, and occasionally people just decide to stay dead in their chosen afterlife. Enko and Anthur came back because they wanted to, and because they had important enough friends to make it possible, but if they die now they aren’t coming back again. Their job ends with this battle and if they die, that is the end of them.
