No matter how deep the walls, no matter how powerful the weaponry, or how deep the munition stores, each and every castle has a fundamental weakness: Its stomach.
This is sort of the warfare equivalent of “Don’t outrun the monster, outrun the slowest friend”. To defeat a castle, the simplest and easiest method is to just starve it. Even if the castle has its own farm, farms take time to produce crops, and can be easy targets for your siege weaponry. And if you isolate the castle, you can do a lot of damage to it simply by cutting it off from outside assistance. This is the strategy behind most prolonged sieges, eventually those in the castle either give up or starve to death or die of plague or injury.
Sildyu recognises this it seems, though with the supply situation almost critical it’d be difficult for her to ignore it as it has been the past couple days.
And it seems it is finally time to address the problem of the Citadel.
