Page 149 Book 5: The War Diaries
Apologies most sincere for this greatly delayed page, I attended a funeral on Wednesday when I’d usually be comicking, and then I was comicking into the very late hours trying to get the page looking as good as I could (which then required that I sleep else risk spoiling it with a single bad frame), but at last! The page is here and I’m very happy with it, so I hope you’ll all enjoy it too because it features what I’d honestly say is some of my best artwork yet.
There’s a fair bit of concern for Lying’s logic here in using melee, and in Sildyu’s as well, and it’s understandable really. Spellcasters as a rule focus on the intellectual talents, so their physical ones tend to suffer as a distinct result. However, that means that, as a rule, enemy spellcasters are squishy and ill-suited to melee as well, a weakness that an especially skilled mage can exploit.
In Sildyu’s case, she’s exploiting that vulnerability by using the Arnathi Shades, a fairly straight-forward parasitic demonic entity that lets her use those wonderful inky black tendrils to whatever benefit she likes. Lying meanwhile is using Martial Transfiguration, which lets him convert his spellcasting ability temporarily into an equal volume of martial ability.
And the summoned guitar weaponry he’s using is, I admit, largely for comedy value.
Lastly, in case you missed it, I did the first video in a series for the TooMuchMinecraft channel this week, 5 Ways to Die in Tekkit: Mining! Go check it out, people seem to be enjoying it quite a bit.
