Page 2 Revolution
A little history lesson.
So firstly, I of course need to address a few artistic changes. I was certain I wanted there to be a distinction between Remember and this new story, artistically, because they’re pretty different animals. I also wanted to spread my wings a little on that front, deviate a little further from my Burlewan roots. First thing I did was add a finger to the hands and reduce the size of the thumb (a small touch, but significant overall).
The second was colouring the outlines. My rule of thumb at the moment is that organic things have coloured outlines, inorganic things have straight black outlines. It gives a little extra dimension to them and makes them stick markedly from the background. There were a few times in Remember where someone was stood infront of something dark and you could barely make out where they ended and the environment began, that won’t be the case with the new story. It’s a little harder to see here but the pair of archaeologists also have slightly thicker legs, because they’re wearing trousers (another distinction imperceptible in Remember’s time)
Naturally, I’m listening for feedback on it. I personally think it looks good and it didn’t take me much to acclimate to it (which, for the stuck-in-his-ways autistic I am, is a pretty good sign), but thoughts and opinions are welcome.
I also took the time to add some degree of shading/highlighting/etc. to every frame, which I plan to be the standard. Pages in this story might appear only once a week on average, but I want to make sure to use that extra time to make them really shine.
Oh, and that blind dwarf shielding his eyes is called Vanirkul, keep an eye out for him.
